Dwynwen Strings, a fresh collective founded by Ruth Elder - Violinist, and Nerys Clark - Cellist, who have brought together Wales' finest string players to provide high quality live music for those special events and perfect moments.
Ruth and Nerys have known each other since childhood, performing together in the Ceredigion Youth Orchestra many years ago. where their passion for music was first ignited. These ladies have gone on to perform all over the world with an eclectic array of ensembles and artists.
Classically trained at Britain's top conservatoires, highlights of their combined professional experience includes performing for her late Majesty the Queen at Buckingham Palace, leading orchestras at the Royal Albert Hall, featuring on TV shows such as BBC's Later with Jools Holland with Muse, Strictly Come Dancing with Lewis Capaldi, and performing live with Oasis, Madness, Stereophonis, and Katherine Jenkins.
All the while providing a top class wedding service to many happy couples across Wales and beyond.
St. Dwynwen is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, and we couldn't think of a better name for our group of talented string players!
Dedicated to creating the perfect atmosphere for those special moments in life, where love is the focus and music sets the scene.
Dwynwen lived in the fourth century in Bannau Brycheiniog, a daughter of King Brychan.
she dedicated her life to praying for true love and happiness to all couples. Today we celebrate Dydd Santes Dwynwen on 25th January.
